One Step Closer

I couldn’t understand why Yossi Doron—our incredible team-building and ODT instructor—packed in more activities than usual at our recent father-and-son event.

Every event like this, run by Shlavim, is deeply meaningful. The feedback is always powerful. The goal is simple but profound: to help fathers and sons get on the same page before making important decisions about which yeshiva the son should attend. But this time, something felt different.

Then Yossi leaned in and whispered to me, “Didn’t you see? That father and son haven’t spoken a single word to each other. I’m determined to help them connect.”

And he didn’t give up. He pushed forward, activity after activity, with quiet persistence—until, finally, the smallest of breakthroughs began to take shape.

At Shlavim, this is what we strive for every day: deeper connection, stronger families, and a more unified people.
